Chicago rapper Durk Banks, known as "Lil Durk," was arrested on federal charges related to a conspiracy to commit murder. The complaint alleges that Banks orchestrated a shooting at a Los Angeles gas station in August 2022, which resulted in the death of a family member of a rival rapper, identified as “T.B.” This incident was part of a longstanding feud following the murder of Banks' friend, rapper King Von.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced that Banks, 32, was apprehended near Miami International Airport and faces charges including conspiracy to use interstate facilities for murder-for-hire. He is currently in federal custody and will appear in court in Los Angeles in the coming weeks.

U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada emphasized the seriousness of the crime, highlighting the danger posed to the public. The investigation involved collaboration between multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and LAPD, which tracked the activities of Banks and his associates leading up to the murder.

Banks allegedly funded the murder plot, coordinating with associates to execute the attack. Several co-defendants have also been charged, and if convicted, all face significant prison sentences.
